This morning on the way up I-65 I was approaching the 65/59-20 interchange. This intersection is often slow and easily gets backed up. Every once in a while the traffic stretches all the way back to the entrance ramp preceeding it. On these mornings I simply slide over in the left lane and go on to the next exit where I can slide around the traffic without having to sit on the interstate and cause a wreck. This morning was one of those mornings so I slid over in the left lane and continued on I-65 North....about that time I caught a glimpse of the mountain in front of me and the fog rising off of it and a magical thought crossed my mind. What if I just kept driving?....what if? Just me, the LORD, a full tank of gas, a dead ipod (forgot to charge) and the road ahead. I could cruse up to Nashville and spend the day. No one would even know I was there!!!
Well, the thought seemed to last longer than the quarter of a mile stretch to my exit but my car, the responsible thing it is, carefully exited pointing me right back toward the ole' tower of power and here I sit blogging about what could have been....sigh
