Martian Child

Here is a movie suggestion for those of you with a heart for adoption.  Martian child is an excellent story of a widower who opens his house and his heart to a child who is less than typical.  The two spend time figuring each other out.  The child believes he is from Mars and tries to figure out what he is supposed to be like here on earth.  The dad tries to figure out how to love this child and develop a family with just the two of them.

I will leave the rest of the details for you to discover but the moral of the story is that we all at times wish or believe that we are from another planet because our past experiences or current circumstances cannot be reality.  Sadly enough this earth is harsh and it is reality but it is NOT home.  Though Hollywood leaves this connection out, we were made for much more than this world and Jesus Christ swept into our earthly realm to prove that although we are not from Mars, we were not made for this world as it is.

Watch this movie and consider how the LORD is calling you to radically share the gospel through adoption and show a child a whole new world in the Kingdom of God!

Oh, and beware, if you watch this with children, you might be facing some major begging for Lucky Charms on your next grocery trip!
