Today earth lost a great one and heaven gained a dancer! Right now Mr. Kenneth Vann better known as Papaw is in the presence of the LORD....healed, free and most likely dancing before his King...our great inheritance.
For those of you who do not know Papaw I will tell you what I learned of him in the short one year I knew him. Papaw was a giver. He would often feel the spirit of the LORD move him to send money to a relative and later find out he had met an urgent need. He was all over the place. He hit every spagetti dinner and pot luck social in the Hope, Arkansas area just to meet people while friends his age sat at home. He was an Arkansas fan and loved to joke with us Alabama fans about embarassing victories for the Razorbacks.
He loved. He loved his family and those his family called family....whomever that might be. He established a quick friendship with his grandaughter's friends (including me) and even sent them the picture posted above so "Papaw's Girls" would have a picture of him (as requested).
Most importantly, Papaw was a child of God...a lover of Jesus Christ. I have no doubt in my mind that he is more whole and more happy now than he has ever been in the presence of the one we look forward to being with for eterninty......Jesus Christ.
We miss you Papaw!
